Boulder Base

U32 Headquarter

1 / 4

Room in Sport Coliving Las Palmas

A compact room that makes use of its unusual height, with a loft bed and a comfortable armchair below.

Facilities

Double bed, 140 x 200 cm
Shared bathroom
2 windows to patio
Roller shutters
7 m² room

Boulder Base is on the ground floor of U32, at the end of the corridor next to the large ground-floor bathroom. At 375 cm the room is high enough for the bed to sit on a loft platform. That platform holds little more than the bed and covers about half the floor area, so it is a raised bed rather than a second storey, and the floor below it stays free for the desk, the wardrobe and an armchair. At the head end there are sockets and a switch for the main light, which can also be operated from next to the door. Of the two windows onto the small patio, one sits at bed height and one below the bed in front of the desk; both carry a blind and both are opened from below, the upper one by a long cord.

Together with Yoga Yard and Runner's Retreat, Boulder Base is one of the three lowest-priced rooms we let. See the rate for your dates.

Bouldering from here

The bouldering wall planned for the house does not have a fixed date yet. For now, you can climb up to your loft bed or head to the nearest bouldering gym, Indoorwall Gran Canaria in La Isleta, about 1.9 km away. For outdoor climbing, Gran Canaria has a large local climbing community and plenty of routes in the mountains around the island.

Trade-offs

Just so you know, Boulder Base has four trade-offs:

7 m² of floor area.
The bed is a loft bed and is reached by a ladder.
The windows look onto the patio that Calisthenics Cove opens onto, so someone may be sitting out there.
Daylight reaches the room indirectly - the windows face the inner patio, not the outside.
